False Teachers

"False teachers will not announce: 'Alright, next Sunday our sermon series - "Christianity Is Stupid"...They're not going to announce themselves. In fact you can be sure that false teachers will always have an element of truth in their arguments. You can count on false teachers using Bible verses. The Arian Controversy, 'Was Jesus fully God or just like God?' Athenasius and Arias were trading back and forth, Bible verses. So don't think that you can just sort of throw up your hands: 'Well look, these people are smart and obviously they have some Bible verses and who am I to say? We just have different interpretations.' On certain key essential issues the Church must say that interpretation is not faithful to to the Word of God and it is false." - Kevin DeYoung from "Spotting False Teachers"
