"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that i may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen."

an assignment
So I'm starting all of this for two reasons:
The first is that I've been thinking about writing a blog for awhile now in order to keep myself writing pieces longer than a couple of sentences in an email. I need to keep myself working while I am out of school and have few other reasons to be writing; and without any concrete effort , I may lose any talent to write, speak, or think. I have already noticed the lessening of clarity when I do sit down to write something and it concerns me.
The second reason for blogging is because I've been given the assignment to write about what I'm interested in by my Godmother (who is also a dear friend and my current employer...so many relationships all in one!). She has always encouraged me to write and does not want to see me lose the knack either.
I really can not promise that this blog will interest anyone other than myself and maybe a few friends. I also can not say definitively that I will follow grammatical rules (though I would like to brush up on that), make sense to anyone outside of my head, or keep myself from making statements that are agreeable to everyone. In saying that, I would accept feedback from any readers, as long as it is civil and does not contain expletives. I do like dialoguing with people about all sorts of things, so feel free to start a conversation about what I may write here.
Well, I suppose that is a good start. I will hopefully have a topic to write more about sometime over the next two weeks. Until then, Happy Holidays and I pray you all will be safe and well!
